The investigation of the triaqe with AMI patients at Emergency department

Objective The purpose of this article is to investigate the status of triage nurses’ assessment the AMI patients at A&E.
Methods There are 105 of AMI cases were collected from the emergency department at Kiang Wu Hospital in January 2008 to January 2010 and retrospectively reviewed.
Results 65.7% of triage nurses can make right decisions and take effective nursing inventions in patients with AMI.Compared with patients with typical AMI, more patients with atypical AMI were undertriaged by triage nurses (p<0.01).
Conclusion Triage nurses should intensify triage ability, especially pay more attention to patients with atypical AMI in order to improve the quality of nursing care.
